Basic Shop Welding

October 19 - Basic Shop Welding
$200.00

Being able to make strong durable welds, in your own small shop, is an essential capability for a blacksmith. Unfortunately, welding machine operation, selecting the appropriate rod size, alloy type, power setting and weld technique can be confusing and intimidating. For many, taking a three-month welding course at the local city college is just not a practical option. To address this challenge, the Basic Shop Welding Class teaches you how to make good strong basic welds when fabricating your own shop equipment, tools and equipment stands in a simple and straightforward manner. You will learn how to define and select your basic welding equipment. You will make a simple project using Stick Arc welding, Mig Arc welding and Oxy Propane Cutting systems. You will learn the basics of weld rod size, type and selection. You will also learn to use grinders and the processes for properly prepping and finishing your welds.
