We are up-dating our home and want to make use of metal art?  Any ideas?
     Smaller items as mentioned earlier can dress up a re-model or update a room.  Adding the shiny, silky qualities of highly polished metals can provide more reflective light or enhance improved lightingor window design.  Think of a wreath of metal ivy leaves with an occasional copper or brass leaf woven into the design or with a polished iron robin perched on a leaf with a brightly glimmering copper breast.  A single piece of work (such as a pair of geese in flight or a coffee table) commemorating a birthday or anniversary can provide a focal point over a fire place or in a new entry way. 
     Speaking of fire places, a new screen designed with the home or interests of the owners in mind, can also bring a focal point to a room which elicits conversation as well as, adds year round beauty to a den or sitting room.  Architectural details such as weathervanes, arches, or small scenes can dress up a room or new living space.  How about a beautiful wrought iron bed stead? 
 
 
 
 
 
 

We are adding a stair well up to a new room in our home and we need a railing.  Can you help?
     Custom railings can be function and beautiful at the same time.  It's best to have the design and railing completed well ahead of time so that the skills and time of the work crew can be used to take care of the installation.  Otherwise, installation costs must be added to the cost of the piece. Sometimes a metal stair can be designed and fabricated by a fabrication shop to meet the specifications of the opening.  Then custom designs can be inserted by an art metalsmith into to the panels depicting scenes or designs which the owners have helped to select. This can keep the price moderate while still providing a beautiful piece of art work to be treasured daily by the owners. 
     Stair wells and railings often provide a place for beautiful detail work complementing the owners desire for a wood stair and treads.  Sculpted metal wall fittings, hand made metal cap rails, decorative bolt heads and/or floor plates can be designed to bring the details of a beautiful stair to life. 

We are designing a house with themes in the various rooms and will need some security grids.  What can we do that's pretty or attractive?
     Security grills and gates do not need to be ugly.  If a customer desires to maintain a theme on the home or building, this is the perfect place to do it. Designs with small openings can be constructed which use nature shapes such as birds or vines and leaves.  If desired exterior work can be treated with patina to give it a verdigris green color or a natural rust color.  Otherwise, a clear coat or durable black enamel is recommended.  However, the beauty of the art work will be enhanced if the window or opening is screened on the interior of the opening so that the piece is visible through the glass and enjoyed from the inside.  The shadow of the design allows for anyone to see that the grill is there yet creates an artistic focal point to be enjoyed daily.
